Villainous Love Songs (#25)

Lovesongs

Because c’mon–you think those characters with the hearts of ice, the unbreakable wills, the huge tendency to bully DON’T jam out to the mushy-gushy on their iPods sometimes?

I am of the firm opinion that villains, just like everybody else, have a love song they just can’t help but…well…LOVE!

This will be a consistent new feature on my blog–probably posted every Monday.  Because there are a LOT of villains, and a LOT of love songs, out there to match… and I’m bound and determined to do it!

If you like this meme, feel free to post up your own–just be sure to link back to mine!

VILLAINOUS LOVE SONGS

El Diablo
(Suicide Squad)

Watching this movie… I sort of felt like El Diablo got the short end of the stick, in a lot of ways.  I mean sure, he did some terrible things, buuuut…I dunno, he seemed to want to change, if he could.  So this song?  Perfect fit.

Peeta Mellark
(The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins)

Now before you all jump on me about how PEETA’S NOT A VILLAIN!…technically, he IS.  For a little while.  He was forged to be a weapon, after all…and that made him, for at least a while, dangerous.  So yeah.  And this song?!  Listen to the lyrics and tell me they DON’T fit.  I dare you.

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!

Villains…and the love songs they don’t want anyone to know they rock out to.

If villains in your world had a favorite love song, which would it be?  Let me know what you think of this post below–or feel free to jump in and post your own pairs!

Until next time, happy book-ing!

Bookishly Obsessed (#4)

bannerfans_17011003

This is going to be a weekly post for Saturdays featuring anything “Bookish” I find myself obsessed with.  In most cases, this will be a certain type of book/read/author.  I might branch out to include covers, as well, but we’ll see.  By “obsessed”…I mean I own tons of/go out of my way to collect!

This week:

Peter Pan

In Order:

Peter Pan, by J.M. Barrie
Hook, by Terry Brooks
Capt. Hook:  The Adventures of a Notorious Youth, by J.V. Hart
Another Pan (Another #2), by Daniel and Dina Nayeri
The Child Thief, by Brom
Tiger Lily, by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Second Star, by Alyssa B. Sheinmel

I also own several movie versions, including:

So… I’m only just a LITTLE bit obsessed with Peter Pan!  But I mean…can you blame me?!  Is there a mischievous character you can’t help but collect like a maniac?  Feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments, or post up your own Bookishly Obsessed and link me!

Until next time, happy book-ing!
