Unpopular Opinions

I was tagged by the bookishly wonderful Anna @ It’s my birth write — thank you so much, you happy fanceh penguin you!  ❤

The tag was created by TheBookArcher. Here’s a link to the original video.

Now then…. LET’S WRECK IT, RALPH!

(I’m sorry, I spent like lots of hours organizing all Keith and I’s movies in alphabetical order this afternoon/evening.  My penguin brain is mush and all I can think of are movies now)

1. A POPULAR BOOK OR BOOK SERIES THAT YOU DIDN’T LIKE.

How about I give you a few…and the reasons why I didn’t like them.  Because WELL-ROUNDED for the win!

Obsidian (Lux, #1)

 Rating: 3/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was reading Twilight again?; pretty slow start; lots of snark, agnst, and teenage drama; aliens…sort of?; fast-paced second half; some pulse-pounding, sexy moments

(If I re-rated this book now, it’d be closer to 3 Penguins)

Red Queen (Red Queen, #1)

Rating: 3.75/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: interesting twists and embellishments to the ideas of “supernatural” powers; sometimes awkward, cliched plot twists; a few weird world-building blips; a story I cared about…with characters that I just couldn’t

(If I were to re-rate this now…I’d probably rate it closer to 3 or 3.25 Penguins)

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1)

Rating: 3.5/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: very slow beginning–seriously, it dragged; intriguing plot, unique cast of characters; I didn’t really feel invested in any of the crew; I wasn’t emotionally invested in the story, either, really; once the pace picked up, the read was quick; loved the addition of the photographs

2. A POPULAR BOOK OR BOOK SERIES THAT EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO HATE BUT YOU LOVE.

Again, I’ll give you a few…and the reasons why.

The Gracekeepers

Rating: 5/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: lyrical, poignant writing; an intriguing, unique sort of dystopia; imaginative, vivid world-building and imagery; heavy, emotional prose; unexpected, surprising twists; small snippets of a lot of different perspectives woven into the two main ones—and it works; endearing, complex characters; lots to love in this read

Rating: 5/5 Penguins Everything That Makes You
Quick Reasons: I don’t… I can’t… WHAT did I just read?!; there might be tiny pieces of my heart embedded in the carpet where it dropped out of my chest while reading; why isn’t this book talked about more?!; beautifully heart-wrenching; I LOVE the juxtaposition of these two “what if” situations

Betwixt

This one doesn’t even HAVE quick reasons because I read it so early in my blogging career!  If you want to read my review on it, though, you can find it RIGHT HERE!

3. AN OTP THAT I DON’T LIKE.

Crimson Sky (Dark Sky #1)

Claire and Riley.  I just… I was ALL SAWYER ALL THE TIME from the very first page, and I cannot for the life of me stand behind Riley.  I just can’t.

4. A POPULAR BOOK GENRE THAT YOU HARDLY REACH FOR.

I…read pretty much anything and everything these days, so… *shrugs* Iunno? The Queen of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #1)

OH OH OH WAIT, yes I do!  High fantasy.  High fantasy and I don’t get along very well.

I’ve only managed to read a few, actually, so far… my favorite being this one right here–

5. A POPULAR/BELOVED CHARACTER THAT YOU DO NOT LIKE.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)

Gale.  I just CANNOT with that boy.  I don’t even know why.

6. A POPULAR AUTHOR THAT YOU CAN’T SEEM TO GET INTO.

Ann Brashares.  Again, not sure why, except maybe my age? The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood, #1)

7. A POPULAR BOOK TROPE THAT YOU’RE TIRED OF SEEING.

In.  Sta.  Love.

Also, “special snowflakes,” ESPECIALLY in dystopian/post apocalypse.  Not every main character HAS to be good at all teh things, okay?! So quit it!

8. A POPULAR SERIES THAT YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN READING.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)

Sorry not sorry?  This just doesn’t really scream at me to read it, and there are WAY too many other books I WANT to read out there for me to bother wasting my time on something I’m pretty sure I won’t like.

9. THE SAYING GOES “THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE”, BUT WHAT MOVIE OR TV SHOW ADAPTATION DO YOU PREFER MORE THAN THE BOOK?Beastly (Beastly, #1; Kendra Chronicles, #1)

This one!  Because…gaaaaah, I dunno, the movie’s just better IMO!

The Beauty and The Beast ( #booktag )

booktags

I stumbled across this #booktag while perusing bloglovin recently, and decided I wanted to play!  I found it on Kourtni @ Kourtni Reads’ blog–thanks, Kourtni, for posting it!  To see her post, CLICK RIGHT HERE!

I’m honestly not sure who the original creator of this tag was…if anyone knows, please feel free to inform me, I’d LOVE to link back to them?

With that said…LET’S GET IT ON (like Donkey Kong)!

fishbreak

“Tale As Old As Time” – A popular theme, trope or setting you will never get bored of reading.

There are a couple, actually, so…

The Red Pearl

Enemies to frenemies to friends to lovers…because HELLO, can anyone say #alltheadorbs #moststeamylovesever #justkissalready ?!?!?!?!

The Boxer and the Butterfly

Faux romance to REAL STEAMY…because again, adorbs?  I guess I like my romance with a ton of drama and adversity in the beginning…

Belle – A book you bought for it’s beautiful cover that’s just as beautiful inside.

The Twistrose Key

Again…there are SO MANY I could have listed here!  I decided to go with a book I don’t talk about often, though.  Just LOOK?!?!?! at this gorgeous cover?!  This was one of the first #midgrade books I remember picking up…and I ADOOOOORED every second of it.  Seriously, guys–I recommend this one.  I gave it 5/5 Penguins.

Beast – A book you didn’t expect much from but that pleasantly surprised you.

Dark Water

If you know me, you know I don’t read thriller/mysteries often.  But something about THIS book called to me….and I’m SO super glad it did, because I LOVED IT SO HARD.  Seriously, penguins–this read is a TRIP, and will leave you picking up the pieces of your jaw at the end.  Trust me.

Also, fun fact?  It’s only 99 cents on Amazon for your ereader. HINTHINT, NUDGENUDGE.

Gaston – A book everyone loves that you don’t.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1)

PLEASE don’t send the seals after me, penguins!  I didn’t HATE this book…it just didn’t work for me personally.  I was booooored.  SO BORED.  I didn’t much like the main character.  I just…couldn’t get into it, I guess.  I’m SORRY, okay?!  I tried so hard!

Lefou – A loyal sidekick you can’t help but love more than their counterpart.

The White Rabbit Chronicles: Alice in Zombieland / Through the Zombie Glass / The Queen of Zombie Hearts (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1-3)

KAT!  I loooooove love looooooooooove!!!! Kat.  Seriously, Kat is total BAE and I think SHE should have been the MC of these books.  I mean, I still love these books, but…Kat!

Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumier & Cogsworth – A book that helped you through a difficult time or that taught you something valuable.

There are so many books that I’ve read JUST THIS YEAR ALONE! that have taught me super important, valuable things…so I’m not going to list them ALL out here.  I WILL, however, tell you this:  you can find ALL OF THEM on the shelf I’ll link right below this statement.

TO THE SHELF–CLICK HERE!

Trust me.  You’ll want to click that, if you want to know a little about what books have touched me hardest.

“Something There” – A book or series that you weren’t into at first but picked up towards the end.

Uhmmmmm… I don’t know that there are any?  If there are, I can’t think of them off the top of my head tonight!

“Be Our Guest” – A fictional character you’d love to have over for dinner.

Trick

I deeeefinitely  have to say Poet.  He’s just so down-to-earth and honest and entertaining and…. GAAAAAAH, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW HARD I LOVE HIM OKAY?!

This is My Genre, Tell Me Yours! #booktag

booktag

I was #tagged by the wonderfully lovely Katelynn @ Books & Bottles in THIS POST RIGHT HERE!  SO MANY THANK YOUS, sweetheart–you always know how to make a girl feel loved!  (also, I miss our GIF wars…we should totes start that up again soon)

So…let’s DO this thang!

THE RULES:

  1. Credit Drew @ TheTattooedBookGeek as the creator of the tag, either use the created tag name graphic or create your own and link back to my blog.
  2. Answer the questions.
  3. Tag as many people as you want.

THE QUESTIONS:

1. WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE GENRE?

Any and all types of retellings EVAR because RETELLINGS, PENGUINS!  Retellings are the absolute beeeeest and I adore them.

I mean, think about iiiiiiit!  You can have your cake, and eat it too–in the form of your faaaaaaavoritest story, except with the author’s own spins and twists and surprises!  It’s like asking for a Barbie Doll for Christmas and getting a whole buncha them instead.

(although according to Goodreads, I’ve only read 46 retellings?!  I think that numbers a little bit off…. I know I’ve read more than THAT.  By a lot.)

2. WHO’S YOUR FAVOURITE AUTHOR FROM THE GENRE?

Uh.  Uhhhhh.  UUUUUUUUUUHM.

Okay, I can TOTALLY do this, let’s see here…

It’s a toss up between ….

No.  Nope, I can’t do this.  There are WAY TOO MANY AUTHORS I LOVE who have written some of my faaaaavorite retellings and I refuse to choose between my babies.  You can’t make me so there!

Image result for sticking tongue out gif

3. WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE GENRE THAT KEEPS PULLING YOU BACK?

Uhm.  How about we go with the fact that IT’S THE GLUE THAT HOLDS MY LIFE TOGETHER?!  Do I really need more reason than that, I mean seeeeeeeriously?  SERIOUSLY?!

Also, Pride and Prejudice retellings for the win for life because they are bae.

4. WHAT’S THE BOOK THAT STARTED YOUR LOVE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE GENRE?

It was a trilogy, if I remember right…

I think maybe you might have heard of it?

Image result for pride and prejudice and zombies books

And so began an obsession that I see no end of!

5. IF YOU HAD TO RECOMMEND AT LEAST ONE BOOK FROM YOUR FAVOURITE GENRE TO A NON-READER/SOMEONE LOOKING TO START READING THAT GENRE, WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?

Oh, penguins.  OH, PENGUINS.  This is like…this question?  THE DEVIL!  Okay, let’s see… If I had to pick just one recommendation, I guess I’d go with…

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

If anyone had told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right. The monsters are real.

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies.

Because it’s suuuuuper fun, it’s super quick, and it’s got ZOMBIES!  I mean, everyone loves zombies, right?!

(okay…maybe I’m also SLIGHTLY obsessed with zombies.  Just a little)

6. WHY DO YOU READ?

….Because WHAT ELSE am I going to do with my life?!?!?!  I mean I could write a book…but…that requires reading.  I could watch a bunch of movies, but…READING IS BETTER.  I could become the crazy cat lady of my neighborhood but I’m moving in December and books don’t get fur all over your nice black pants and words don’t leave you dead mice as presents.

So… I choose books.  Because I can.

THERE YOU HAVE IT!

Do YOU like to read retellings?  What’s your favorite, if so?  If you haven’t read one before but want to, which do you hope to pick up first?!  LET’S TALK BOOKS!

Also, I tag (but please don’t feel obligated to do the thing if you don’t wanna):

Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews

Danielle @ Books, Vertigo and Tea

Tori @ Book Dreamer

Annelise @ The Book Adventures of Annelise Lestrange

and, of course, ANYONE ELSE who feels they’re strong enough to take this #booktag downtown!

Thanks for sticking with me and my nonexplanations, penguins!

Until next time, happy book-ing, and…

Reader Confession Tag

Penguin2.5

Reader Confessions Tag

I stumbled across this awesome tag over at Reads and Treats— thanks, Kendra!

1. Have you ever damaged a book?

Yes.  And I did it… ON PURPOSE!

NUUUUUUUUUUH!  you say.  HOW DARE YOU?!  I hear you exclaim.

Honestly?  I bought the books.  I destroyed the books.  I don’t feel bad about it.

Also, I took a book arts class in college, soooo…

2. Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?

I don’t think so.  But I don’t borrow books.

3. How long does it take you to read a book?

It depends.  On my days off, I can EASILY finish 1-2 books (sometimes 3, depending on length!)  During the work week…I get through maybe 1, if I’m lucky?  So… usually about 3 a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.

4. Books that you haven’t finished?

I know my reading tastes well enough, I usually don’t buy books that I end up not liking.  Every now and then one sneaks onto my reading list (usually in the form of retellings)  But…I haven’t DNFed a book in a while.

5. Hyped/Popular books that you don’t like?

Let’s burst some bubbles here, shall we?!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Ransom Riggs);
Obsidian (Jennifer L. Armentrout);
The Princess Diaries (Meg Cabot);
Red Queen (Victoria Aveyard);
Vicious (V.E. Schwab);
Eleanor & Park (Rainbow Rowell)

6. Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?

Nawww, I’m pretty open with my reading.  If people don’t like it, too bad, stuff and fluff–they can go shove themselves with marshmallows.

7. How many books do you own?

Print books is somewhere around 800?  Ebooks is more like 300.

8. Are you a fast reader or a slow reader?

This TOTALLY depends on several things.  First, I tend to fly through ebooks, where with print books I read much slower (someone explain this to me?  I don’t get it)  Second…if I’m not real invested in the book?  I take MUCH longer, because it starts feeling like a chore instead of like fun.

9. Do you like to buddy read?

YES! YES!  YES!!!!!  Seriously, guys, feel free to approach me about buddy reads–my door is always open!

10. Do you read better in your head or out loud?

Er…in my head, I guess?  I do read aloud to the husband, though–mostly Terry Pratchett, because those books BEG to be read aloud–and he doesn’t seem to mind it, so… maybe you should ask him?

11. If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?

My Kindle!  Because technically it’s ONE book…….that holds literally as many books as you want it to at any given moment.  ONE book, countless reading possibilities.  Smart, right?!

I TAG:

Kei @ The Lovely Pages Reviews

Caitlin @ Words and Other Beasts

Heather @ The Sassy Geek

And anyone else who wants to do this thing!

As always, no pressure–if I’ve tagged you and you don’t wanna, don’t do the thing!

The Gilmore Girls Book Tag

GG Tag

I stumbled like a klutzy clucker (HAH, that’s a lot of fun to say!) across this tag on bloglovin thanks to

Bekka @ Pretty Deadly Reviews and THIS POST RIGHT HERE!

and because, like kooky Kirk (MAN I’m on a roll here!) watching the series through-AGAIN!-I decided I had to drop every single thing I was doing (which…was absolutely nothing) and DO THIS TAG!

So let’s do it!

1. I JUST GOT HIT BY A DEER

character having the worst day ever

Oh goodness, let’s see… I think I’m going to go wiiiiiith…

Oh, oh, I know!

The Uninvited

Ivy Rowan, from The Uninvited!  I mean… I can’t say WHY, because SPOOOOILERS man!  but trust me, she’s having a bad day.

2. STARS HOLLOW

wildly eccentric cast

Equal Parts (Supernova, #1)

I cannot.  I repeat, CANNOT! get over how much I adooooore this book, and these characters, and…Gah.  I NEED BOOK TWO!  Someone get Emma Winters on the phone.  It must be done.  It must be done soon.

3. COFFEE

a book you’re addicted to/a character with an addiction

Well…this is NOT an easy choice, but I have to go with

Arena

because…an addiction to virtual reality?! Heck to the yes.

4. SOMEONE DEVIL EGGED MY CAR?!

great act of revenge

Revenge is a dish best served cold.  Unless you’re in Hell, in which case, it would melt before reaching your intended destination.

What am I even saying?! I’m gonna have to pick…uhm… You know, you would be AMAZED at…..how few books I ever read with revenge as a plot device?  Because… I don’t think I do.  At all?  Like…I can’t think of one.

So, next question!

5. MR. MEDINA

an illicit affair

F*ck Love

THIS ONE THIS ONE THIS ONE!  Yes.

6. KIM’S ANTIQUES

a world you’d be afraid to enter

I mean, I LIKE music, but…I don’t like music that could kill me.  So I have to say

Vinyl (The Vinyl Trilogy Book 1)

7. HARVARD VS. YALE

character who needs to make a life-changing decision

Uhm.  Uhmmmm. Let’s just go with…

Wrecked

I can’t even imagine having the make the sort of decisions these characters do.  I just… Ugh.

8. LUKE’S DINER

a comfort read

If you saw this coming, kudos to you, because OBVIOUSLY I had to pick

Pride and Prejudice

9. AM I CRYING OR LAUGHING?

a book that messed with your emotions

The Love That Split the World

10. EMILY

the HBIC (Head Bitch in Charge)

Can ANYBODY say Zahra?!

The Forbidden Wish

11. LORELAI AND RORY

favorite family dynamic

Uh.  Uhhhh… OH OH OH!  (and again, if you saw this coming, HUGE KUDOS!)

But–the Bennet sisters.  ALSOALSOALSO, Darcy’s relationship with Georgianna, because can you SAY adorable?!  PARTICULARLY in this book right here:

The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet

12. I PUSHED HIM IN THE LAKE!

a book you’d throw in a lake

Obsidian (Lux, #1)

13. 1000 YELLOW DAISIES

favorite romance

Touch

Love and Andrew!

14. JESS

an unpopular opinion

I am sorry.  I have to come clean.  YA with aliens?  I just CANNOT get behind it.  I mean…it’s SO cliche?!  At least, the few I’ve read so far.  If you’ve read a YA with aliens, PLEASE let me know what it was?  I might be willing to give it a try.

15. FIRST SNOW

snowy or holiday read

I…erm… I don’t really READ holiday books?  OHOHOH, wait, I got one!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies: A Book of Zombie Christmas Carols

Yes, I went there.  No, you won’t hurt my feelings if you laugh at me.

16. HEP ALIEN

book centered around music

In the Band (Luminescent Juliet, #1)

Love this book.  LOVE this series.  But this one?  This one’s my favorite of the three.

17. HE’D BETTER HAVE A MOTORCYCLE!

your book crush

Liam.  frakking adorable. Stewart.

Forever.  Foralways.

18. IT’S REPETITIVE AND REDUNDANT

a book that could have been shorter

Uh… Uhmmm… Let’s see…

Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined

Don’t get me wrong.  This was a FUN read.  I actually somehow liked Beau much more than I liked Bella, though…I’m not sure why?!  BUT.

This book, as fun as it was, was just… TOO LOOOONG.

So. Yus.

19. KIRK

the weirdest book you’ve ever read

Do you… Do you realize who you’re talking to right now?  Because I am THE QUEEN of weird books.  I devour weird books by the bucket load.  I…

I honestly don’t know if I can answer this question.  What can I say?  I live and breathe weird, which…makes actual “weird” things seem normal to me.

20. IT’S A LIFESTYLE. IT’S A RELIGION

that one book that means more to you than any other

The Night Circus

This was the very first book I ever picked up completely on a whim.  I didn’t know anything about the read, I didn’t know anything about the author.  All I knew was:  it called to me.  It called to me HARD…and I answered.  And I’ve never looked back.

I just LOOOOOOVE his relationship with Rimmel.  They are seriously frakking adorable.

“I’m hitting the shower,” Braeden said and slammed his locker shut.

“Hey,” I said and caught him by the shoulder. He glanced around at me. “You wanna tell me why Rimmel called you before the game?”

Braeden spun. “Did you go through my phone?”

“Did you lie to me about my girl?” I countered.

He wiped a hand over his face. “Fucking A. Don’t put me in the middle, Rome.”

“You’re my best friend, asshole. There is no middle. It’s my side.”

“Hey now,” he said. “Sisters before misters and all that.”

“What the fuck does that even mean?” I drawled, amused

“It means I’ve taken her on as my little sister. You’re her mister. I’m officially in neutral territory.”

The Entertainer Blogger Award

sunset08

HUGE thanks to Anna @ Space Cats and Books for nominating me for this award!  You can see her nomination post right over HERE!

HERE ARE THE RULES:

  • Write a post with the award picture.
  • Nominate 12 other bloggers who are funny, inspiring, and, most important of all, ENTERTAINING!
  • Add these rules to the post.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and leave a link to their blog!
  • Also, answer these questions down below!

Before I begin…can we, like, agree to make awards with INTERESTING questions in the future?!  I mean don’t get me wrong, okay, but seeeeeriously–it’s always the same questions.  I get bored easily!

No worries, no worries… I’ll suffer through it for you guys.

1. Why did you start a blog in the first place?

It’s a pretty easy answer, really.  I’d had a tumblr for…I don’t know how long, and wasn’t finding what I wanted there in terms of community.  So I branched out, realized I had a wordpress sitting around in the dark collecting cobwebs (yay me? I don’t even know why I started this blog in the first place) and VOILA!  Here I be!

Of course, all you lovely readers helped–thanks for being epical and glittery!

2. What is your favorite book?

Why do people always assume I’m going to have only one?!  REAL BOOK ADDICTS CAN NEVER PICK JUST ONE!  I mean really, it’s like potato chips…can YOU eat only one potato chip!?  I didn’t think so.  (if you don’t like potato chips, feel free to stick your own brand of addiction in there–chocolate chips, peanut butter balls, strawberries….)

To answer the question, though, I’ll direct you to two different goodreads folders:

5 Penguin Reads

Life Ruiners

3. What do you dislike the most?

What…do you mean in terms of books?  Pet peeves?  Music?  Food?  I don’t… I’m a reader, YOU MUST be more specific!

Let’s see… in terms of books:  insta-love and cliff-hanger endings (and by this, I mean the UNNECESSARY ones.  I don’t mind the normal cliff-hanger sometimes, but not every book in a series HAS to have one, you know?!)

In terms of…everything else?… I haaaaate when people say “living the dream” or “just another day in paradise” in response to asking how they are.  Don’t do that, okay?  I don’t need your back-handed sarcasm.

4. What is your favorite food item from the mall?

Pretzels.  OH.  MAH.  GOSH.  Pretzels.

5. What is your favorite pastime activity?

I mean…have you, uhm… Have you been around these parts long?

Aside from the obvious…

Music.  Movies.  TV shows.  I have a burgeoning love of Anime happening.  And sometimes I write, though…not as much as I should.  Because WHO HAS TIME?!

The Secret Life of a Book Blogger

Penguin2.5

I was tagged by Lauren over at Wonderless Reviews in this post right HERE!

If you don’t know Lauren yet, you really need to go fix that.  Like, right now.  GO!  I promise this post will still be here when you get back!

(Also, she has a tendency to throw glitter.  It’s sort of like

except, like, all the time! Total win, if you ask me.)

How long have you been a blogger?

According to wordpress, I’ve had this blog for over FIVE YEARS!  I’ve only actively been using it for about one, though.  So… yeah.

At what point do you think you will stop?

LOL no, uhm.  I honestly don’t know?  I guess when I find it’s no longer fun.  Or something.

What is the best thing?

PENGUINS! AND COOKIES! AND CHOCOLATE! AND MUSIC! AND….

Wait, you meant about blogging!  XD

PENGUINS! AND PEOPLE! AND PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE PENGUINS!

Does that answer your question?

What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

Book.  Haul.  Envy.

LOL this gets me.  This gets me every time.

How long does it take to find/create pictures to use?

Whaaaaaat?! I don’t need pictures. Pshhhhhh, just LOOK AT THE PENGUINS!  Look at the penguins and it’ll aaaaaaall be okay!

Who’s your book crush?

I always come back to Liam.  Always, always, alwaaaaaays.

What author would you like to have on your blog?

Do people legitimately only pick ONE author for this question?! O.o

I just… I don’t know that I should even start listing them off, because we’d be here LITERALLY for the rest of forever, but let’s see…

Natalia Jaster.  Emily Henry.  Sophia Elaine Hanson.

I think right now, they’re top three.

What do you wear when you write your blog?

I live in my pajamas when I’m not working.  So, warm long sleeves (because winter right now) and fuzzy soft pants!

How long does it take you to prepare?

How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

CAAAAAAN you feel the LOOOOOOOVE tonight?!  Because I do–it’s EVERYWHERE in this community, and that makes this community awesome.

What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

Okay, guys–this is gonna be hard!

  1. Write what you want to.
  2. Post it.
  3. Do you like it?  That’s all that matters!
  4. LOOK, YOU’RE A STAR!

Who do you tag?

Totally Should’ve…BOOK TAG!

Penguin2.5

I was tagged by the wonderfully bookish Lauren over at Wonderless Reviews — check out her post RIGHT HERE!

Thank you, Lauren–you rock my (currently not on my feet) toe socks!

THE RULES:

The Totally Should’ve Book Tag was created by emmabooks and you can see her original video here. Basically there’s a list of “totally should’ve…” scenarios and I choose books that I think best fit them!

Totally Should’ve… Gotten A Sequel

I mean…I don’t… No.  Just no.  I don’t think any of the books I *LOVE* that are stand-alones really NEED sequels, and…the ones that do need sequels already have sequels. So.

Totally Should’ve… Gotten A Spin-Off Series

Awwww yeah, this one I can get behind.  I pick

The Night Circus

I NEED me more of Poppet and Widget.  I need it.

Totally Should’ve… Ended Differently

The Cresswell Plot

I LOVE this book…but that ending, man.  That ending be weird.

Totally Should’ve… Had A Film Franchise/TV Show

What?  No.  None.  I don’t choose you, Pikachu.  You can’t make me, sorry not sorry.

Totally Should’ve… Had One Point Of View

Uhmmm… To be honest, I can’t think of any with more than one that didn’t somehow work for me?  I’m sure one exists, somewhere out there, buuuut… Yeah.  I have no idea.

Totally Should’ve… Had A Cover Change

In the Band (Luminescent Juliet, #1)

I LOVE these books.  I LOATHE these covers.  They’re all just so…so… so IIIIICK!

Totally Should’ve… Stopped Reading

Everything You and I Could Have Been If We Weren't You and I

Obsidian (Lux, #1)

Freak of Nature (IFICS, #1)

…Glutton for punishment, much?

Totally Should’ve… Kept The Covers

I don’t have an answer for this one.  Because…none of them have really BUGGED me enough for me to notice, I guess.

Totally Shouldn’t… Have Pre-Judged

Trick

Vinyl (The Vinyl Trilogy Book 1)

The Fall Up (The Fall Up, #1)

“But Beth!” I hear you saying.  “Aren’t these some of your absolute favorite reads?!  What gives!”

Well…I went into each of these judging them hardcore.  I regret that now.  I regret that so much.

“I’M SORRY BO-OOKS!
I never meant to judge yooou!
I never meant to break your spine
so tonight, I’m cleaning up my she-elves!”

Okay…that doesn’t really work but YOU GET ME, right?!

I Tag:

Uhm…

YOU!

Yeah.  We’ll go with that.
