Weekly Wishlist (#7)

weeklywishlist

Because I needed a post in my life that kept me up to date on all things BOOKS!  and it seemed like Wishlist Wednesday was dead, I decided to make my own.

Welcome to Weekly Wishlist!

I’m all about breaking bending the rules to my will, so I’m switching it up!  I’m going to pair books that are already in the wild…with books soon to be released. Click the covers to be taken to the Amazon page.

Books Soon-to-Be

Thirteen Rising (Zodiac, #4)

Why I want it:

This one doesn’t even have a blurb yet BUT OH MY PENGUINS, look at that cover!  That coooooover!  If I could marry a book for its cover, THIS WOULD BE THAT BOOK because this book is absolutely stunning and gorgeous and I love it.  Once it’s in my hands, ain’t NOBODY getting it back out of my grasp, okay?  NOBODY.

The Bone Witch (The Bone Witch, #1)

When Tea accidentally resurrects her brother from the dead, she learns she is different from the other witches in her family. Her gift for necromancy means that she’s a bone witch, a title that makes her feared and ostracized by her community. But Tea finds solace and guidance with an older, wiser bone witch, who takes Tea and her brother to another land for training.

In her new home, Tea puts all her energy into becoming an asha — one who can wield elemental magic. But dark forces are approaching quickly, and in the face of danger, Tea will have to overcome her obstacles…and make a powerful choice.

Memoirs of a Geisha meets The Name of the Wind in this brilliant new fantasy series by Rin Chupeco!

Why I want it:

I absolutely fell in love with Rin Chupeco’s writing style in her The Girl from the Well series, and I need more of her books in my life.  Also, this book?  Gets released to the wild ONE DAY before my birthday, so….hint hint, nudge nudge?  Anyone?  AAAAANYONE?!

Books in the Wild

Forbidden

She is pretty and talented – sweet sixteen and never been kissed. He is seventeen; gorgeous and on the brink of a bright future. And now they have fallen in love. But… they are brother and sister.

Seventeen-year-old Lochan and sixteen-year-old Maya have always felt more like friends than siblings. Together they have stepped in for their alcoholic, wayward mother to take care of their three younger siblings. As defacto parents to the little ones, Lochan and Maya have had to grow up fast. And the stress of their lives—and the way they understand each other so completely—has also brought them closer than two siblings would ordinarily be. So close, in fact, that they have fallen in love. Their clandestine romance quickly blooms into deep, desperate love. They know their relationship is wrong and cannot possibly continue. And yet, they cannot stop what feels so incredibly right. As the novel careens toward an explosive and shocking finale, only one thing is certain: a love this devastating has no happy ending.

Why I want it:

I’ve heard SUCH awesome things about this book, and I’ve been all about pushing myself off my comfort zone cliff this year, so… This very quickly got put on my wishlist.  Sorry, not sorry.

Kill the Boy Band

Just know from the start that it wasn’t supposed to go like this. All we wanted was to get near them. That’s why we got a room in the hotel where they were staying.

We were not planning to kidnap one of them. Especially not the most useless one. But we had him—his room key, his cell phone, and his secrets.

We were not planning on what happened next.

We swear.

From thrilling new talent Goldy Moldavsky comes a pitch-black, hilarious take on fandom and the badass girls who have the power to make—or break—the people we call “celebrities.”

Why I want it:

This has been on my want to read list since I FIRST HEARD about this book.  In fact, I think I pushed the “want to read” button before I even read the blurb–that title got to me, penguins!  Really though, this sounds super entertaining and kind of darkly humorous, and I need it in my life.  I need it SO HARD.

What do you guys think–have you read any of these…or WANT to?  What did you think of them, if so?  Let me know your thoughts and as always…

Until next time, happy book-ing!
