Weekly Wishlist (#6)

weeklywishlist

Because I needed a post in my life that kept me up to date on all things BOOKS!  and it seemed like Wishlist Wednesday was dead, I decided to make my own.

Welcome to Weekly Wishlist!

I’m all about breaking bending the rules to my will, so I’m switching it up!  I’m going to pair books that are already in the wild…with books soon to be released. Click the covers to be taken to the Amazon page.

Books Soon-to-Be

Black Moon (Zodiac, #3)

Why I want it:

I’m not copy/pasting the blurb because I haven’t even read the second book yet (I own it though!) and I’m NOT about to spoil myself, but… LOOK?!?!?!?!?! at this gorgeous cover?  It’s so freaking stunning, I can’t eeeeeeven right now.  I adoooored Zodiac and I’m keeping my fingers crossed I adore Wandering Star because I NEED THIS BOOK IN MY LIFE and on my shelves!

Queens of Geek

When BFFs Charlie, Taylor and Jamie go to SupaCon, they know it’s going to be a blast. What they don’t expect is for it to change their lives forever.

Charlie likes to stand out. SupaCon is her chance to show fans she’s over her public breakup with co-star, Jason Ryan. When Alyssa Huntington arrives as a surprise guest, it seems Charlie’s long-time crush on her isn’t as one-sided as she thought.

While Charlie dodges questions about her personal life, Taylor starts asking questions about her own.

Taylor likes to blend in. Her brain is wired differently, making her fear change. And there’s one thing in her life she knows will never change: her friendship with Jamie—no matter how much she may secretly want it to. But when she hears about the Queen Firestone SupaFan Contest, she starts to rethink her rules on playing it safe.

Why I want it:

This book honestly had me at the pink hair on the cover, I cannot EVEN with how much I adore it–it’s so textured and pretty and PINK!  And I’m not one for pink, usually, but…I need more pink books in my reading life.  Also, SUPACON!?!?! Because you all know I looooooove me some nerd/geek culture! (because… I am one.  A nerd/geek, that is)

Books in the Wild

Kingdom of Ash and Briars

Bristal, an orphaned kitchen maid, lands in a gritty fairy tale gone wrong when she discovers she is an elicromancer with a knack for shape-shifting. An ancient breed of immortal magic beings, elicromancers have been winnowed down to merely two – now three – after centuries of bloody conflict in the realm. Their gifts are fraught with responsibility, and sixteen-year-old Bristal is torn between two paths. Should she vow to seek the good of the world, to protect and serve mortals? Or should she follow the strength of her power, even if it leads to unknown terrors? She draws on her ability to disguise herself as a man to infiltrate a prince’s band of soldiers, and masquerades as a fairy godmother to shield a cursed princess, but time is running out. As an army of dark creatures grows closer, Bristal faces a supernatural war. To save the kingdoms, Bristal must find the courage to show her true form.

Building on homages to Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Jane Austen’s Emma and the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, Hannah West makes a spectacular debut.

Why I want it:

Are you CAH-RAY-ZAY?!  Do you even know me?  Seriously, tell me, DO YOU?!  Because if you do, you know better than to ask that question because you already know the answer is HULLOOOOOO, it’s a retelling and the cover is gorgeous and I need it in my hands.  In mah hands, RIGHT NOW please and thank you!

The October Faction Volume 1 (October Faction, #1)

The October Faction details the adventures of retired monster-hunter Frederick Allan and his family… which include a thrill-killer, a witch, and a warlock. Because sometimes crazy is the glue that binds a family together.

Why I want it:

Because apparently I need more graphic novels in my life and this one looks SUPER intriguing.  It’s sort of got that Addams Family vibe going on, which I just… Yeah, gimme.

What do you guys think–have you read any of these…or WANT to?  What did you think of them, if so?  Let me know your thoughts and as always…

Until next time, happy book-ing!

    • PINK HAIR for the win!!!! I’ve gone purple a few times, myself–but not like, flat out purple? It was one of those colors that looked red under most lights and then purple under direct sun/bright lights. *shrugs* ONE DAY, I’ll go super vibrant. ONE DAY! Hehe.
