Villainous Love Songs (#15)

Lovesongs

Because c’mon–you think those characters with the hearts of ice, the unbreakable wills, the huge tendency to bully DON’T jam out to the mushy-gushy on their iPods sometimes?

I am of the firm opinion that villains, just like everybody else, have a love song they just can’t help but…well…LOVE!

This will be a consistent new feature on my blog–probably posted every Monday.  Because there are a LOT of villains, and a LOT of love songs, out there to match… and I’m bound and determined to do it!

If you like this meme, feel free to post up your own–just be sure to link back to mine!

VILLAINOUS LOVE SONGS

Voldemort
(Harry Potter, by J.K. Rowling)

I know, I know, I seem to use Voldemort every couple of weeks…but GUYS, there are just SO MANY great “love” songs for this terrifying villain.  SO.  MANY.  And this song?!  Well…if you’ve read the books, you’ll understand COMPLETELY within the first two lines. SO.  FITTING!

Eric/The Phantom
(The Phantom of the Opera)

Don’t TELL me this song doesn’t fit, guys.  I mean sure, Christine sings more than she dances…but…it’s pretty easy to switch some of the words around.  Also, she did start out as a background dancer, so… Yeah.  IT FITS.  Also, don’t try to convince me that loving Eric is wrong–again, it’s that whole antihero/villain thing!  It gets me every time!

Jane
(The Twilight Saga, by Stephenie Meyer)

Guys.  GUYS.  When this pairing popped into my head, I almost killed myself giggling.  I can’t believe I didn’t think of it before, it’s SO PERFECT!  Like seriously.  SERIOUSLY PERFECT!

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!

Villains…and the love songs they don’t want anyone to know they rock out to.

If villains in your world had a favorite love song, which would it be?  Let me know what you think of this post below–or feel free to jump in and post your own pairs!

Until next time, happy book-ing!

  1. Ooooh you totally brought my love for the Santa/Chad Kroeger song. Is this the wrong time to admit I haven’t actually seen the entire Phantom of the Opera show..? O.o
PAIN!!! without love, PAIN!! Ach, such a great song.
I love this collection and all the bands associated!
Have you read Uprooted by Naomi Novik? I can definitely see the Wood replaced with the acorn in this music video which made me cry (THE ACORN PAIN!!) tears of laughter (definitely not pain *sniffle*). I only caught the end of Ice Age 3, but I think I need to watch it. That acorn is my OTP!

    • Hahaha, thank you! I’m so so glad you enjoyed this post, I always have such a ton of fun putting them together each week! 😀

I haven’t read Uprooted yet! I want to…but it’s SO expensive, I can’t justify picking it up right now! Maybe one day I’ll find one on sale, or something. 😄

Although I SO agree about the acorn! Oh my penguins, that acorn NEEDS to be its own character, seriously!

      • I am keeping my eyes open for these, THIS IS A MAGNIFICENT IDEA!
And right!! That poor acorn finally has an ending and IT’S A PAINFUL ONE! Such sadness…
